US CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2012
The US Chess Championships start in St Louis on 8th May 2012. Round 1 7pm UK time: Kamsky-Ramirez, Nakamura-Hess, Akobian-Seirawan, Shulman-Kaidanov, Stripunsky-Onischuk, Lenderman-Robson.
The competitors of the 2012 U.S. Championships stand in front of the world's largest chess piece. The piece stands 14 feet, 6 inches tall.

The 47th Capablanca Memorial takes place in Havana, Cuba 4th-14th May 2012.Ivanchuk has won this event 5 times,from 2005-2007,2010-2011. He is joined by Leinier Dominguez Perez, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Viktor Laznicka, Vladimir Potkin and Yuniesky Quesada.

Kramnik-Aronian Match 2012

Vladimir Kramnik and Levon Aronian will play a six game training match starting on 4-21-12
The contest will be played at a Classical Chess time-control to be employed in the next Candidates tournament, with 40 moves in two hours, 20 moves in one hour plus 15 minutes and an increment of 30 seconds per move for the remainder of the game.
Kramnik and Aronian will play an additional Rapid game if the main game on any given day is drawn in under three hours. The match is being organised by the Zurich Chess Club
