The 1st FIDE Grand Prix takes place in Simpson’s-in-the-Strand in London 20th September to 3rd October 2012. Play starts at 2pm each day. The field has undergone a number of changes. ANAND RETAINS WORLD CHESS TITLE

Viswanathan Anand retains The World Chess Champion's title after defeating Boris Gelfand in the Rapids of the World Chess Championship 2012 with a score of 2.5-1.5 After 12 Classical games the score stood even at 6-6.Many believed Anand would most likely defeat Boris easily,but Boris showed his true fighting spirit as the match progressed.
